About Santeria and Palo Mayombe

The sacrifice of animals to the Orishas and Spirits is inherent to the practices of Santeria and Palo Mayombe.
The blood sacrifices are offering we give to the spirits to strengthen the powers of their vessels and to call their attention to specific situations, the animals are sacrificed by skilled initiated priests, with knowledge and training to do this work, the meat is eaten after the ceremonies, unless it is a cleansing ritual or the spirits request to be used differently.
In gifts of animals and plants, we honor the Orishas and Spirits, life for life, ashe for ashe, it creates the exchange of energy and brings the ashe of the Orishas and spirits to us.
Not all the rituals and services include or require animal sacrifices, only when the spirits request it and they are specific ceremonies for them. Ceremonials are always done to balance and release any energy from the sacrifice itself.
There is nothing evil in this centuries-old practice and the only negativity that can come from it is when people who do not have any knowledge or insights tend to judge as diabolic or evil what they do not know.

There is no color in magic; the color is in the intentions.
Our everyday life is a debate between the forces of good and evil, positive and negative, life and death; in Yaya Maris’s spiritual work, she uses these forces to find the right balance for every situation.

If you believe this sexist’s discriminatory statement, by all means, do not hire Yaya Maria’s services.
Yaya Maria is a woman, initiated in Palo Mayombe and Santeria and her work and spirits are as powerful as it comes, not because of her sex, but because of the spirits that come and respond to her requests.
There are different levels of initiations in Santeria and Palo Mayombe for female and male priests. We all complement and need each other. The higher initiations are held by male priests. But it all comes down to the quality, strength, knowledge and spiritual development of the practitioner, not the sex.
Yaya Maria respects every priest, its position and the rules of her traditions and will never get into this debate because she finds it disrespectful to the spirits of our ancestors, the Orishas, Mpungus, and God.

First, you need to find a house that will accept you as a Godchild and should be in your geographic area, you need to get to know your Godparents and learn to respect and trust them.
Look for their relationship with their own Godparents and other members of the house, it is a good sign to find houses that stick together with respect. If you are local to the Miami area, make a personal appointment with Yaya Maria and she will be able to guide you. But you need to stay local, Santeria and Palo initiations can not be done online or over the distance, a personal relationship with your Godparents is extremely important and should not be ignored.

There is no initiation required to develop your own spiritual gifts and get to know your spirits and guides, to learn about your spirits and how to make your life better.
Yaya Maria can help you at any distance if the spirits allow me to.
It takes years of work, discipline, and dedication, but if you choose that path, the benefits of spiritual enlightenment are immeasurable, but it can not be done in one day or one consultation.

Yaya Maria works with the spirits, spirits cannot harm you or make you do something evil. But some people can do evil things using spirits. Once again, it is not about the practice, it is about the practitioner.

At no point, under any circumstances, any spell, ritual, consultation, ceremonials or amulets sold by Orisha Ashe represent any type of initiation into Santeria and Palo Mayombe priesthoods.

If you believe in it, we respect it, Yaya Maria believes in spiritual development, growth, and learning.
Karma (the way people see it) is used to hide guilt feelings when people believe they compromised their own moral codes, but the truth is that there is not guilt, condemnation, censure or criticism in the spiritual world, only lessons to learn and grow from them.
My godfather (ibae) used to define karma this way: “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger”

Santeria and Palo Mayombe are forms of natural shamanistic magic, we work with the powers and the spirits of nature, roots, herbs, minerals, animals and everything mother nature has to bring us.
Santeria and Palo Mayombe are two different practices, different systems, and ceremonials.
Yaya Maria is initiated into Santeria and Palo Mayomber and works closely with her Eguns (Spiritual guides).
Many of her custom works and rituals in Palo Mayombe are sealed by the spirits into spiritual possessions, meaning the spirits use Yaya Maria’s body and complete the work.
